Ibrahim Farag is the founder of Vantage Law PLLC and a Louisville-born trial attorney whose practice spans criminal defense, federal civil-rights litigation, and corporate law. Within two years of licensure, Ibrahim served as defense counsel in one of the most nationally scrutinized police-use-of-force prosecutions in Kentucky history — the Brett Hankison / Breonna Taylor matter — representing the defendant through three separate proceedings from 2022 through the ongoing Sixth Circuit appeal. He is recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Stars honoree for 2026 and by the National Trial Lawyers as Top 40 Under 40.

A lifetime resident of Louisville, Kentucky, Ibrahim Farag received his law degree from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 2019. After bar admission in 2020, Ibrahim joined Vaughn Petitt in Louisville, where he gained foundational experience in Kentucky civil and criminal defense practice. He founded Farag Legal Services PLLC in August 2022 and operates under the Vantage Law trade name.

Ibrahim has extensive experience handling complex civil litigation matters including personal injury, commercial products liability, premises liability, civil rights violations, excessive force, administrative law, employment, public sector civil defense, contractual disputes, and corporate matters. His criminal defense work includes serious felonies such as capital murder, as well as DUI cases and other misdemeanors tried as lead counsel in Jefferson County.

Ibrahim's flagship matter — the Brett Hankison / Breonna Taylor case — involved representing one of the most scrutinized defendants in a nationally watched civil-rights prosecution. He served as retained defense counsel across three separate proceedings: the 2022 state trial resulting in acquittal on all counts, the 2023 federal trial that ended in mistrial, and the 2024 federal retrial that resulted in conviction and is now pending appeal at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Ibrahim is a proud member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Louisville Bar Association, the Kentucky Justice Association, and the Kentucky Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is licensed to practice in all Kentucky state courts, both the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky federal courts, and has appeared before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
